In Ohrid, on September 22nd and 23rd, 2023, a conference on the topic “In Search of Lost Time – Yugoslavia and European Integration” / ” U potrazi za izgubljenim vremenom – Jugoslavija i evropske integracije” is taking place. Historians from Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and North Macedonia are discussing the unsuccessful attempts at European integration of Yugoslavia, trends in researching this process, European integrations, and transregional policies, as well as the EU’s enlargement to post-communist countries after 1989. They are also addressing a series of other issues related to the history of European integration in post-Yugoslav countries.
Led by Principal Investigator Dr. Borut Klabjan, the conference was also attended by a member of the Open Borders research group, Dr. Jure Ramšak, and a member of the advisory group, Dr. Hannes Grandits.
The conference is part of the project “In Search of Lost Time – Yugoslavia and European Integration,” which is supported by DAAD.
