In October 2025, our institution welcomed students and mentors from the Master’s Programme in Architecture and Urban Design (MA ADU) at the AUIC School, Politecnico di Milano. The visit, which took place in October 2025, was organised within the framework of the thematic studio “Urban Design for Borderlands: Gorizia–Nova Gorica Beyond the ‘GO! Borderless’ 2025 Vision”, led by A. Buoli, A. Frigerio and L. Montedoro, with contributions from M. Antinori, T. Di Muccio, F. Samele, I. Traeger and V. Rodani.
The studio explores spatial, social, and developmental challenges in borderland cities, encouraging students to develop innovative urban design approaches for the cross-border urban area of Gorizia–Nova Gorica. Special attention is given to how everyday urban life can overcome the border and expand the ambitions of the GO! Borderless vision beyond 2025.
During their October visit, students toured key locations, met with local stakeholders, and gathered materials essential for the development of their project concepts, which they will continue to work on throughout the 2025/26 academic year.
