Goraz Bajc

Professor Gorazd Bajc is a historian specializing in contemporary European history and international relations. He graduated in History from the University of Trieste in 1997 and later obtained both his Master’s degree (2001) and PhD (2004) in History from the University of Ljubljana. He serves as Professor of Contemporary History at the University of Maribor and as Scientific Councillor at the Science and Research Centre Koper (ZRS Koper). His research focuses on twentieth-century history, particularly Slovenian/Yugoslav–Italian relations, the legal and political status of the Slovenian minority in Italy, diplomacy and international relations, intelligence services, antifascist movements, state repression, and the history of political violence. Throughout his career, he has participated in numerous national and international research programmes and projects and has been actively involved in organizing and contributing to scientific conferences across Europe. Professor Bajc is the author and co-author of numerous scholarly publications and is a member of several Slovenian and international editorial boards. His work has significantly contributed to a deeper understanding of cross-border relations, minority issues, and the complex political dynamics of the northern Adriatic region and Central Europe in the modern era.
