On the day 15 of June 2023 in Florence Italy, Historical Archives of the European Union first time signed a contract of Deposite with Slovenian Research Center.
Between Science and Research Centre Koper, represented by prof. Borut Klabjan PhD, lead investigator of the ERC project- OPEN BORDERS, under the authority of prof. Rado Pišot, PhD, Director of ZRS Koper, and the Historical Archives of the European Union in Florence, Italy, represented by the Director, Dieter Cornel Schlenker signed the Agreement of Deposit on the collection “Open Borders – Cold War Europe beyond borders. A transnational history of cross-border practices in the Alps-Adriatic area from World War II to the present”
Historical Archives Service
The historical archives of the European Commission are opened to the public 30 years after their creation. Each EU institution has its own archives service. At the Commission the opening of the historical archives is carried out by the Historical Archives Service (HAS).
Historical Archives of the European Union
After opening them to the public, the EU institutions deposit their historical archives at the Historical Archives of the European Union (HAEU), which is part of the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. The HAEU provides the public access to the archives of the EU institutions.
