On June 1st, at the Verdi Theatre in Gorizia, as part of the èStoria Festival, Jože Pirjevec and Federico Tenca Montini took part in a roundtable discussion on the book History of Yugoslavia by Marie-Janine Calic. Since the book is largely dedicated to the history of the Yugoslav federation during the Cold War, it strongly resonates with the Open Borders project. For this reason, the two ZRS collaborators explored the history of Yugoslav shopping in Trieste and the liberal border management regime between the two countries.
In addition to the author, the discussion featured contributions from Egidio Ivetic and Dimitrij Rupel. A large audience attended the event and enriched the final part of the debate with numerous questions and remarks.
